Our on-call service

Find an on-call doctor in the evenings and at weekends in Brussels

Nearly 400 doctors take turns on our on-call roster each year, ready to see you quickly, without an appointment. They provide emergency general medical consultations and send a report to your GP for follow-up.

Our on-call doctors are available at seven medical posts covering the 19 municipalities of Brussels: Brussels Centre, Schaerbeek, Ixelles, Etterbeek, Anderlecht and Forest. Each medical post is accessible on foot, by car or by public transport.

They are located not far from a hospital if your concern is not related to general medicine or if you require additional tests.

The Garde bruxelloise also provides home visits in the evening, at night, on weekends and on public holidays.

Our rates

How much does a consultation with an on-call doctor cost?

Our on-call general medical service operates according to the rates set by the INAMI:

If you are up to date with payments to your mutual insurance fund and/or if you are eligible for increased reimbursement, the co-payment system will apply; you will then only pay the amount corresponding to your personal contribution.
If you have a valid CPAS emergency medical assistance card, you will not have to pay for the consultation up front; an invoice will be sent directly to your CPAS.
If you are affiliated with a Medical Centre, we also apply the "co-payment" system. This means that you will only pay the "co-payment" and the balance will be billed directly to your Medical Centre. You can, of course, also pay the full amount due and obtain reimbursement from your Medical Centre upon presentation of the certificate of care provided.
If you do not have mutual insurance in Belgium, you pay for the consultation and we will give you a document that will allow you to be reimbursed by the social security system in your country of origin.
