“Organisation of the General Practitioners’ On-Call Service
The law assigns the mission to circles of general practitioners to organise an on-call service throughout their entire area. (Royal Decree of 8 March 2002, Article 4).
The Brussels region corresponds to a single continuous zone for general practitioners.
However, due to community-specific exceptions, two circles of general practitioners territorially overlap in Brussels:
- Fédération des associations de médecins généralistes de Bruxelles (non-profit organisation) (Company number: 0432.556.850)
- Brusselse huisartsenkring (non-profit organisation) (Company number: 0419.649.912)
Since 26 June 2014, these two circles have chosen to organise a joint on-call service for general practitioners. It is precisely to ensure the sharing of this mission that our bilingual entity was established:
Garde bruxelloise (non-profit organisation) – Brusselse wachtdienst (non-profit organisation) (Company number: 0554.791.597)
Codes of conduct regulating our medical activity:
- Medical Code of Ethics 2018 (disciplinary law)
- Patient Rights (legislative law)
- Quality Law for Healthcare Professionals (legislative law)
